Meet Geraldine, owner and guide

Geraldine, originally from Guadalajara Jalisco, came to Oaxaca to work in Art Restoration, which she has been doing for the past 10 years. Being in Oaxaca she worked assessing damages from the 2017 earthquake that hit the south of the country.

Working in Art Restoration gave her the opportunity to visit a lot of communities all over Oaxaca, allowing her to have a greater understanding of the culture, specially about the diverse cuisine.

Coming from a traditional Mexican family, where food is the most effective way of bonding, food became the universal language. As many mexican households Dad doesn’t “speak feelings”, but he does speak food, so in order to become closer to Dad, she started asking and learning about Oaxacan cuisine, to later create Gordeando: Tours For Fat Souls!

Here in Gordeando we want to make you feel like you’re hanging out with a friend, so feel comfortable to ask questions and we’ll try to clarify them!
